The ATP Winston-Salem Open is the first of the four Grand Slam tournaments on the annual tennis calendar and together with the Australian Open the premier hard-court tennis tournament in the world. One of the top contenders and World number two, Roger Federer, comes in strong this year after he attained his 1000th career win against Milos Raonic to win the Brisbane International title.Women's veteran and World number one, Serena Williams, comes in trying to claim her 19th grand slam title, after recently losing to Agnieszka Radwanska in the Hopman Cup.It took place at the Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, from August 23 through August 29, 2014.
